Staggered Start for PreK & Kindergarten Students 2026

Dear Longdale Families,

With the summer in full swing, school will be starting before we know it, it’s not too early to mark the start of the next school year on your calendar. We’re introducing a new staggered First Day schedule designed to make the transition to elementary school even smoother for our incoming pre‑K and kindergarten students.

Monday, Aug. 24

• First day for pre‑K and kindergarten students

  students in grades 1–5

Tuesday, Aug. 25

• First day for pre‑K and kindergarten students with last names beginning with

  K -Z

• All

  students in grades 1–5

Wednesday, Aug. 26

• All students attend

This staggered start allows our youngest learners time to become familiar with the building, routines and expectations before all students attend together.
